Why take this course? This course is designed and tailored for pharmacometricians and pharmacokineticists new to the S-PLUS command line, as well as those with some skills but who wish to expand them. What makes this course unique is that it is taught by pharmacokineticists and pharmacometricians in the industry, who are actively involved in drug development, and who will provide real life examples of how to apply S-plus in our field. You will have the opportunity to share your questions and problems with other PK/PD S-PLUS users in the course who are currently applying S-Plus. In addition, the course gives back to our PK/PD community, as 100% of the proceeds go directly to MUFPADA to help fund current and future MUFPADA meetings.
What will you learn: Day one starts with the basics, as applied to the PK/PD field. The first day will focus on understanding data objects and how we use them in PK/PD, how to manipulate data sets, and the basics of how to prepare various types of plots typically used by PK/PD scientists. Trellis Graphics and its applications to pk/pd will also be covered.
In addition, the students will learn how to prepare their own functions in S-Plus, as well as be provided with examples of functions to perform some common tasks that pK/PD people perform.
The second day will cover more advanced topics, such as bootstrapping datasets and performing clinical trial simulations from existing NONMEM model within S-Plus. We will build on Day One plotting knowledge to apply to things like plots for predictive checks and plotting from simulations using confidence intervals.
